Here’s how I made a super easy, frugal and delicious pumpkin crumb pie…
I started with a can of “Baker’s Corner Pumpkin Pie Filling Mix”. It was a 75 cent clearance cart purchase that I got from Aldi awhile ago. Canned pumpkin pie filling mixes are easy to use. They contain most of the ingredients needed to make the filling. All I had to add were eggs and evaporated milk.
Raising our own chickens means that we always have a supply of fresh eggs without having to buy them. Free eggs make me happy!
I used a premade graham cracker pie crust, that I purchased on sale at Dollar General for only $1.00!
I used leftover crumb topping that I had frozen after making an apple crumb pie a couple of months ago.
To show how frugal this pie was…
- 75 cents for the filling mix
- $1.00 for the graham cracker crust
- free eggs
- leftover crumb topping
- a 67 cent can of evaporated milk
- plus a bit of cinnamon and vanilla
Total cost to make this pie was less than $3.00!
The link below is for the pumpkin pie filling mix I purchased at Aldi and used for this particular pie. Check after the holidays in hopes of scoring a bargain on it just like I did.
