How To Make Simple Delicious Sticky Biscuits

Sticky Biscuits? Yes folks, they are a thing! They’re caramelly, nutty. biscuity, sticky and sweet!! I came up with a simple way to make them and they’re absolutely delicious!

This sticky and sweet venture all started with a leftover partial bag of frozen biscuit doughs that I found in our freezer. I needed to use them before the frost crystals took over. And, I also happened to have a bag of pecan pieces in our freezer that I had purchased at a discount a few weeks ago. Note: Keeping nuts in the freezer helps retain their freshness longer.

With those 2 ingredients in hand, the proverbial light bulb illuminated thoughts of sticky biscuits and this deliciousness was born.

These are my take on sticky buns without the cinnamon roll element, which made these a much quicker and easier preparation last Sunday morning!

Ingredients Needed To Make Simple Delicious Sticky Biscuits…

  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 3 TBsp. Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Nuts-Pecans or Walnuts
  • Dash Salt
  • 7-8 Frozen Biscuit Dough Rounds (I used Pillsbury brand)

Ingredients to make the sticky part of the sticky biscuits
Using premade frozen biscuit dough is a time saver when making sticky biscuits

Preheat oven to 325 degrees for dark nonstick pans or 350 degrees for other pans.

Start By Making The Caramel Sauce

In a saucepan, heat the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla and salt until combined. Stirring constantly until smooth and creamy colored.

** Be careful, this mixture is hot like molten lava! **

Then pour the brown sugar mixture into a 9″ round cake pan (nonstick is preferred)-for easier cleanup. Or be sure to use non-stick spray on other pans before adding the caramel sauce.

Sprinkle the nuts on top of the brown sugar mixture in the cake pan.

The Simple Part…Add The Biscuits

Arrange the frozen biscuit doughs on top of the brown sugar and nut mixture. Use as many biscuit dough rounds as will comfortably fit in the pan-sides touching is ok, but not overlapping.

Bake in 325 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. Until no indentation remains when the top of the biscuit is pressed. Remove from the oven.

Notice how the biscuits absorb some of that nutty, caramelly deliciousness??!! YUM!!

Allow to set for one minute. Then place a large plate on top of the cake pan.

CAREFULLY, flip upside down and allow the biscuits to drop onto the plate and the sticky gooey brown sugar and nut mixture to drip down onto the biscuits. Remove the pan and scrape out any remaining goodness from the pan and place it on top of the biscuits-to fill in any gaps as needed.

Serve while still warm.

Oh my goodness, look at that deliciousness!! I can’t even contain my love for these!!

Simple Delicious Sticky Biscuits For The Breakfast Win!

Honestly folks, these are so incredibly delicious. They’re less sugary than the normal sticky buns made with cinnamon roll doughs. And they’re faster and easier to prepare by using the frozen premade biscuit doughs. The simple preparation make these a go-to for family breakfasts or holiday entertaining.

They’re great with walnuts or pecans. I prefer pecans because they’re a softer nut. But, use what you like or have on hand.

IF (note the big IF) you have any sticky biscuits leftover, it is best if you reheat them in the microwave for 15-20 seconds-to soften the caramel exterior. But don’t overheat.

Well folks, I’m off to go make another batch of these yummies! I hope you will do the same…your family will be very happy when you do!

Take care. Be safe. Virtual hugs,

Chauncey
